Bono makes an 'Oh No'

Apparently the new U2 album has leaked because Bono was playing it too loud out of his window. A passer-by noticed that it was new U2 and started recording the music. Uh oh, Bono!

lamb of god working on new album.

lamb of god are working on a new album due out in February 2009.
Now everyone can go back to arguing about whether this band is metalcore, mall core, groove metal, death metal, or whatever else every tag freak on last.fm is arguing about.

Are you having fun?

So I was a little late to party when it came to the band called The Format. I fell in love with them right as they were breaking up. Luckily Nate Reuss, vocalist of The Format, has a new band called Fun. They have a rough demo on the linked myspace page.

Here's a video by The Format of a live version of a beautiful song called "On Your Porch"

Death metal dog

I'm waiting to hear his pig squeal.

Don't Buy The New Morrissey DVD!

The man himself has this to say about the new DVD;
"The slapdash release of 'Morrissey Live At The Hollywood Bowl'is done by Warner without any consultation to me whatsoever, and is in breach of their terms as laid out by themselves in an agreement made for the film between Warner and my ex-manager. Being Warner, predictably the sleeve art is appalling. It is the work of cash-hounds, and I urge people NOT to buy it. I am not signed to Warner and no royalties from this DVD will come to me. Please spend your money elsewhere. Thank you, MORRISSEY."

And he's one of the greatest lyricists of all-time. So listen to the man.

My favorite alt-rock-pop-sury-ska-lounge-jazz-metal band readies new album!

The Vincent Black Shadow will be releasing a new album sometime this fall. This band mixes so many genre's it's ridiculous, yet it comes across so smooth.

If you haven't seen their video, give it a watch. It's good stuff.

Wigger Slam? Oh please, no!

Yet another metal and hardcore sub-genre being called wigger slam seems to be emerging. I got to be honest and admit that I enjoy some of most metal and hardcore genre's, but this just sounds  ridiculous. Apparently it Deathcore mixed with nu-metal and hip-hop.

We don't want any!

Deathcore Is Taking Over.

Christian Deathcore band, Underneath The Gun have signed with Ferret Records. I'm surprised Solid State Records haven't signed a Deathcore band, yet. Get with it SS!

New Videos!

Here is August Burns Red's new video for "Back Burner".

Here is Wrench In The Works new video for "Dust Over Time Test".

Here is Inhale Exhale's new video for "It's Myself vs. Being A Man"

Norma Jean Vs. The Anti Mother

Norma Jean sold 16,000 copies of their new album The Anti Mother in it's first week. Good enough for it to debut at number 29 on The Billboard 200 sales chart. Their previous album Redeemer sold 21,000 and O God, The Aftermath sold 19,000 their first week in stores. Both have sold over 100,000 copies to date.

Here is the video for their metalcore classic, "Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste".

God Forbid To Cover Muse

God Forbid have announced that they will be covering the song by Muse called "Stockholm Syndrome" as a b-side to their upcoming album. Here is Muse's video for the song.

Random Goodies

Here's some older video you should see, if you have not.

Mute Math - Typical. Pure brilliance.

I'm crying like a baby.

One of my favorite bands, Life In Your Way, recently played their final show together. I believe they were the best band ever to fuse worship and hardcore. If you have never heard their album Waking Giants, you are missing out on a truly amazing and life changing album. Watch this video for a glimpse of the power in their music.

Black Metalcore?

...and it sounds good!

Abigail Williams is being thrown around as the first black metalcore band. Not in skin color, but in genre, of course. Infusing the epic nature of black metal and blending it with metalcore and the result is very pleasing to my ears. Listen to a new track here. Does it sound good to you?

You Look Like A Freak

So I did a YouTube search for 'Worst Band Ever' and this is what I found. I think YouTube may have got this one right.

OMG! PARAMORE ARE SELL OUTS!

OMG!

Apparently some kid is freaking out over his beloved favorite band Paramore putting out a DVD after only two albums. You'd think by his over-reactions that they're going to have their faces on Pepsi cans or something. Bands do not make that much money off of DVD's. Besides that, why wouldn't a fan of a band want them to put out a DVD.

At least they're not having clothes from Kohls made in their honor.

Oh Mae Goodness!

New music on the way from Mae!

-A B-side from Singularity called "Somewhere" will soon be available on their website.
-Three tracks from Destination Beautiful have been re-tracked for a future re-release of the album. Those tracks "Soundtrack For Our Movie", "Summertime", and "Embers And Envelopes"
-They will be releasing new tracks for download over the course of 2009 and will also be releasing those tracks as three ep's for a limited time.
-They say they no longer want to work with record labels.

While you're waiting for new music from Mae. Check out this oldie, but goody.

Meusic

Hello everyone who may be reading. I thought I'd start off this blog by letting people know a little about me. I'm an all out music obsessed person. I own over 1,500 purchased CD's. I can find music I like in most genre's. I believe The Beatles are the greatest artist of the Rock & Roll era, yet they are not my favorite. I believe there is such thing as a talented metalcore band. Honestly, I quite enjoy alot of it. I also enjoy boundary pushing music. I'm also a sucker for a deep, yet catchy power-pop song. I'm not an elitist for I believe that music is intended for both art and entertainment. At the same time, I have very little tolerance for immaturity, both lyrically and musically. But enough about me, for this blog is not about me. It is about the power of music.

Here is a song that I believe everyone should hear at least once in their life.
